Every spring, the Alzheimer’s Association hosts its ‘A Reason to Hope’ event. This event is a national endeavor that brings significant funding to the organization. They wanted to eliminate paper donations and offer a more modern and interactive method of donating during the event. Also needing technology to assist in silent auction fundraising, they looked towards GiveSmart.
Challenge & Solution
With the help of GiveSmart, they offered a text-to-donate form to their donors that could be texted to anyone who desired to make a gift. They also improved event participation by having their staff circulate with credit card swipers to process silent auction items and raffle tickets. They also projected a GiveSmart thermometer that showed donations as they were made and identified the donors on the screen. GiveSmart implemented this strategy to energize the crowd and motivate donors to give in the moment.
