The Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina (IIANC) is a professional association representing independent insurance agencies across North Carolina. Looking to advance advocacy, professional development, networking and community, IIANC launched Path LMS in December 2024, as part of its broader “InsurAcademy” initiative, designed to train and license new insurance professionals while providing continuous development for agency staff.
Challenge & Solution
As IIANC prepared to launch new workforce development and training programs, leadership quickly realized their legacy LMS could not support the level of innovation and scale they envisioned. IIANC needed a more robust platform to power a growing hybrid learning initiative to blend live webinars, on-demand coursework, and self-directed learning. At the same time, IIANC sought a solution capable of scaling beyond North Carolina to support future partnerships with other state associations and external learners. Deeper integration with their AMS was also critical to streamline learner data, reporting, and operational efficiency. Additionally, they required the ability to create multiple branded learning portals so member agencies could deliver training directly to their own staff under their own organizational brand.
After evaluating several LMS vendors, IIANC selected Path LMS for its flexibility, scalability, and member-centric experience. The platform enabled each agency, and even partner state associations, to launch custom-branded learning environments, empowering members to share training seamlessly with their teams. Self-service tools allow agencies to upload content, assign courses, and run reports independently, reducing administrative burden. IIANC is also excited about implementing role-based learning paths, now structured into nine distinct tracks, including a new “Benefits from Partners” pathway, ensuring relevant, career-aligned development. With seamless AMS integration and responsive, partnership-driven support from Momentive Software, IIANC gained a future-ready learning ecosystem designed to evolve alongside its strategic growth plans.
Results
Organizational Impact
Following the implementation of Path LMS, IIANC experienced rapid expansion, extending its LMS offering to an additional state within just three months of launch, and another seven additional states in the first quarter of 2026. The platform’s scalable architecture enabled IIANC to introduce white-labeled portals for sister associations and strategic partners, creating a new driver for both non-dues revenue and member engagement.
Operationally, the organization streamlined course management, reporting, and member onboarding processes, reducing administrative complexity, and improving internal efficiency. Leadership described the overall transition and implementation as “the least painful” of any major technology initiative, highlighting both the platform’s usability and the strength of its support partnership.
Learner Impact
The learner experience has been equally strong with Path LMS. Mentor sessions achieved an NPS of 85, while agency training and courses overall earned NPS scores of 75, demonstrating consistently high satisfaction across program types. Learners frequently describe the platform as “very easy to navigate,” citing smooth course delivery and a clear, intuitive structure.
By combining live webinars, on-demand coursework, and self-directed learning paths within a single ecosystem, IIANC now delivers a flexible learning experience that accommodates varying schedules and professional development needs across its member agencies.
