A Single Solution for Security and Streamlined Event Access
HOPA hosts several events throughout the year and wanted a solution that offered a single app for all of their events. Momentive event app solution enabled HOPA attendees to log in to a single app and access all of HOPA’s events taking place throughout the year. Instead of downloading separate apps for each event, HOPA attendees could download a single HOPA app and, within that app, access each event’s page. Each event operated independently, with its own branding, login, and customizable features, which were integrated seamlessly with their AMS, to achieve HOPA’s goals of security and easy access.
Challenge & Solution
The single most important goal HOPA sought to achieve when selecting its event mobile app was to ensure its security. Momentive achieved this goal by implementing a login for each event, requiring users to enter a username and password to access each event.
HOPA also wanted to take its app one step further and make it easy for attendees to access each event by using the same credentials the user previously used to register for the event. This was achieved by implementing a login for each event and setting up web services to connect the login screen to the HOPA registration system. The outcome was a seamless login process that would keep the information HOPA publishes secure, while allowing users to avoid remembering multiple passwords to access HOPA event-related information.
Results
Momentive staff set up a web service link between the event app and the registration database. However, instead of pulling in and storing each user’s individual username and password from the database, only a validation web service was used. This took security to the next level, as no user’s personal credentials were stored in the app’s system.
Both HOPA attendees and staff were thrilled with the app. It met all of HOPA’s goals, providing security and streamlined access across platforms.
